The Archive Room
Botanical sketches, letters, maps and other treasures.
It began with an old suitcase.
Tucked away among family keepsakes, forgotten photographs, and bundles of letters, I discovered a collection of weathered notebooks, handwritten recipes, pressed flowers, botanical sketches, and notes gathered over a lifetime.
The suitcase belonged to Granny Jay.Its pages told stories of forest walks, cottage gardens, seasonal harvests, village remedies, and recipes shared among neighbours.
Between the journals were notes on creams, soaps, oils, preserves, herbal infusions, and simple rituals inspired by the natural world. Some pages were faded. Others stained with oil or marked with dried petals. Many recipes were incomplete, written in a way only their creator could fully understand.
The Granny Jay Archive is my attempt to bring those discoveries back to life.
Each Archive Entry is a modern recreation inspired by the notes, recipes, traditions, and stories found within those pages. Some are inspired by forgotten beauty rituals. Others by harvest recipes, pantry treasures, and seasonal gatherings.
This is not a collection of exact recipes. It is a journey of rediscovery.
One page.
One story.
One recreation at a time.
Welcome to The Granny Jay Archive.
